Adam Hozaifa

Partner - Europe

Adam Hozaifa has over 15 years of payments experience, as an industry practitioner working for both Visa and Mastercard, as well as a payments consultant, having delivered 35+ projects for schemes, issuers and acquirers around the world. He is an expert in payment economics and pricing, with detailed knowledge of interchange and scheme fees. Prior to payments industry roles, Adam worked at Deloitte and KPMG as a strategy consultant, where he received a thorough grounding in management consulting approaches and techniques and delivered 50+ projects within payments and retail banking.

Adam started out his career at Deloitte Consulting in London, where he was a strategy consultant, focussing on retail banking and payments. He worked with leading blue chip financial services clients and his work included advising on market entry, go-to-market strategies, innovation pipeline design and management, business case development, cost-to-serve modelling and commercial due diligence (M&A). Adam then moved on to KMPG’s Operations Strategy Consulting team, where he continued in the financial services space, delivering pricing optimisation and cost reduction projects to retail banking clients. In both organisations, Adam developed a reputation as a financial modelling expert and, in addition to client service work, he delivered modelling training to consultants and clients globally.

Following six years of management consulting experience, Adam secured a Senior Manager role in Visa Europe’s Corporate Strategy team. There he received significant CXO-level exposure developing regional strategies, building product business cases and advising on responses to regulation. Wanting to gain exposure in developing and launching a product, Adam moved to Visa’s Card-Linked Offers team where he developed the product pricing and worked on the launch of Visa’s loyalty platform with two major UK&I retail banks.

Adam then took a role at Mastercard Advisors as a Senior Managing Consultant, where he worked on a project to redesign the premium credit card proposition for one of the UK’s largest retail banks, identified operational improvements in a credit card approval process for a major UK issuer and designed marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase an issuer’s card activation rates.

Within Pinnacle, Adam brings subject matter expertise in the following practice areas:

  • Issuing & acquiring economics

  • Portfolio & product profitability

  • Pricing tools & optimisation

  • Customer segmentation

  • Strategy development

  • Financial modelling/business cases

  • Partner selection
